I first heard the original of song at Movement when Four Tet played in 2016. Unlike most of the music at that festival his music had a lot of melody and soul, and he played this one earlier in his set. I actually didn't know the track at the time, but I posted some of the lyrics on Facebook asking my digger friends to help identify it. They did, I bought the 7" from Cultures Of Soul, then realized I wanted a longer version, leading to my extended edit here.

listening to this mix I can close my eyes and have an epic dance party of one, transported to a dark loud place surrounded by beautiful sweaty creatures, as if it was any year other than 2020 djcaptainplanet
