about
When I first heard this tune I just about lost my mind. The incredible blend of 4-on-the-floor dance floor Disco with beautiful R&B/soul vocals, and that gorgeous acoustic guitar on top-- the acoustic guitar makes it. Not to mention the message in the song resonates with me deeply. I searched high and wide for a proper extended version because the current released versions are just too short. So I ended up buying a mint copy of the TK 12" and getting to work with the digital razor and tape.
I ended up completing this edit in time for Movement Festival 2022, where I played it in the sunshine to a beautiful crowd. I hope you can play it for your beautiful crowds this summer too.
lyrics
[Chorus]
Brothers and sisters (Brothers and sisters)
Brothers and sisters (Sisters and brothers)
Brothers and sisters (Brothers and sisters)
Brothers and sisters (Sisters and brothers)
Brothers and sisters (Brothers and sisters)
[Verse 1]
Don't think that you're alone, we love you
You always got a home, just believe me
And what we are today, just believe in harmony
Just believe in unity
We're a family
(Brothers and sisters, sisters and brothers)
[Verse 2]
We're a family, and God has blessed us all
With loving and music, and music and loving
And helped us to stand tall
Now we believe that what we have today
Love has helped create, together we made our fate
As a family (Brothers and sisters, sisters and brothers)
[Verse 3]
We're a family
Hardship comes to one, hardship comes to all
Troubles come to one, troubles come to all
One of us is wrong, none of feel right
Someone has a song we sing with all our might
[Outro]
Brothers and sisters, we're brothers and sisters
(Sisters and brothers)
Brothers and sisters (Brothers and sisters)
We're brothers and sisters (Sisters and brothers)
